One of the most powerful features of Join It is the 'Status' associated with your Memberships.

By leveraging the Status field, you can do things like:

  • Create a processing queue for new Memberships. Along with the setting on Membership Types that assigned a specific status upon joining, you can set up and use this queue to process new memberships, send our welcome materials, validate information, or anything else.

  • Create a segment of memberships that aren't fully active, but still included in your database.

We support 5 different Statuses on Memberships:

  • Prospective: Commonly, the prospective status can be given to members who are interested, but haven't committed to joining. However, any membership can be moved to 'prospective' by an admin of your organization.

  • Pending: This is the most extensible status and it can be leveraged by your Organization to fill a specific procedural requirement. Commonly, the pending status can be given to members who have applied but haven't been approved; alternatively it can be used when a payment hasn't been collected; or it can be used however your organization needs it.

  • Active: The active status is for your full members. 

  • Expired: The expired status is given to a member who their membership period expires and they haven't renewed.

  • Cancelled: The cancelled status is given to members who had their membership cancelled.

How do I update the Status of a Membership?

Updating a Membership's Status is easy:

  1. From the individual Membership Record

  2. Click on their current status label or the link that says 'Change Status'

  3. From there, you'll see different options that you can select from
